Haydock 7th September 2007
Hamish McGonagall finished 3rd in the 5F Willie McKay Sports Management EBF Maiden Stakes at Haydock (Jockey – David Allan). The race looked very strong and sure to produce future winners. In the early part of race Hamish McGonagall had to be restrained, by David Allan, before settling into a rhythm. He then travelled well but still looked very green. At the furlong marker he stayed on well, to get within a length of the winner, finishing a very good 3rd at 50/1.

Hamish McGonagall with David Allan at Haydock
Hamish McGonagall made his debut in the 5F Brocklesby Conditions Stakes at Newcastle (Jockey - David Allan). The pace on the stand side was a little slower than the far side. Hamish McGonagall came with a strong run from the two furlong marker but weakened in the last furlong. Drawn on the wrong side of the track he raced very green, running into other horses in the early part of the race. Plenty more improvement to come.
Newcastle 31st March 2007
Newcastle 3rd October 2007
Hamish McGonagall finished a very good 2nd at Newcastle in the 6F EBF Maiden Stakes (Jockey – Kevin Darley). He led 2 furlongs from home only to be beaten to the line by Resounding Glory. Kevin Darley said Hamish McGonagall was a little keen and took him to the front earlier than he would have liked. A very pleasing performance as he pulled 6 lengths clear of the 3rd placed horse.
Ayr 20th September 2007
Hamish McGonagall was an unlucky 4th at Ayr in the 6F You Can’t Predict FA Maiden Auction Stakes (Jockey – David Allan). He started the race as favourite at 13/8, however, the race did not workout as expected and he suffered from traffic problems at the 2 furlong marker. When the space came he rallied gamely but was unable to make up the lost ground.
